Resting lapwing, redshank and water reflections, Marshside RSPB reserve. I visited Marshside for a couple of hours this morning, the first time I have been there for months. There was a real sense of the changing seasons, with skeins of pink feet flying over the marsh and stopping to feed, whilst as I painted I could hear the constant twittering of swallows overhead. A really exciting time of year. I've not done any fieldwork for months, so it was great to get out of the studio again. I'm determined to do much more work over the winter months.
