We were on the beach today, watching the fulmars taking up residence on the cliffs...and trying not to get too close!Tracy Hallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02618327920955524004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33527085.post-86252356596738850832010-02-26T16:52:56.778+00:002010-02-26T16:52:56.778+00:00Yes, I understand that they are largely absent fro...Yes, I understand that they are largely absent from the far north. Wow, I've never been to Orkney, but would love to visit in the spring for the breeding birds. Do you do a lot of birdwatching as well as painting?Jonathan Latimerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12314274335549573580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33527085.post-66161690440083552572010-02-26T16:35:13.425+00:002010-02-26T16:35:13.425+00:00Apparently they are very rare visitors here in Ork...Apparently they are very rare visitors here in Orkney - it would certainly make my day to see one in the garden. I did notice your Garden Bird Count list was considerably longer than mine too!

And thank you - brave or foolhardy...not sure :)Tracy Hallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02618327920955524004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33527085.post-66488752408762584892010-02-26T16:14:11.107+00:002010-02-26T16:14:11.107+00:00ps - you are very brave using watercolour. It never happened, until recently, when I noticed one feeding on a suet ball in the snow, during the really cold weather in January. Thankfully he has continued to visit, though his appearances are getting more sporadic.Jonathan Latimerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12314274335549573580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33527085.post-20887997745330245142010-02-25T11:00:04.962+00:002010-02-25T11:00:04.962+00:00What a wonderful visitor to get, you're so luc...What a wonderful visitor to get, you're so lucky!
